What inspired the design of the sweatshirt?
Aidan Turner (Founder): That's a great question. The design is plain. It's completely plain. And I can't tell you how many times people have asked me to make a plain sweatshirt. Obviously, I make a bunch of different designs. We have so much to offer on the website, and I appreciate that versatility. I want to be as versatile as possible. But we don't have a single plain sweatshirt, and that's something a lot of people are into nowadays. And you know, even I sometimes don't want to rep another brand. If I'm going somewhere, I want to be either in my brand or no brand at all. And I get that. And maybe some people don't like the designs, so they just go without one. So the design for the acid wash collection, or the plain acid wash, is because I've had so many people say, are you making plain sweatsuits? Are you making plain sweatsuits? And here we are finally offering no logo. The fabric type does speak for itself in the fact that it's nice and thick; it's going to say soft. Actually, the acid wash process makes the fabric softer if you're using the right fabrics.
Is it a cotton polyester mix?
Aidan Turner (Founder): 100% cotton. When you acid wash, you shouldn't use polyester. It's not going to be good when you mix the chemicals and synthetics. And when you do acid washing, it makes it a lot softer, which is super interesting.
It breaks down the fibers, right?
Aidan Turner (Founder): Exactly. Just to speak a little bit more about the design and the structure of the garment, the hoodie is oversized, which is something that I'm starting to lean into now because it's very, very popular, just like acid wash. Acid wash is popular, but I had a lot of fun with the color. I personally am not a fan of the black acid wash because it looks weird on the seams. So it's a dark gray, like a steel gray, and it looks great. It came out amazing. And another thing that we're experimenting with is the strings on the inside. A lot of people don't like the strings hanging down on the outside, so we put them on the inside, or you could just take them out. This is also the first straight leg sweatpants I've ever designed and I've ever produced, and so it's an exciting world to get into, because, you know, I've been, I did joggers. Joggers were popular for a while, and then it was cuffed pants. And I think right now, the straight leg and the cuff pants are kind of balanced. People go back and forth, so I'm really excited to announce that it's the first straight-leg sweat pants. Finally, we'll have some on the website.
You kind of mentioned this, but you seem to be leaning toward doing the oversized silhouettes. Is bigger better?
Aidan Turner (Founder): Size doesn't matter! Right now? Yeah, it is better. It's better because the type of garment that we're making is about the style. And so, I don't want to say, drown in it. But it wraps around you, this bagginess. And aside from streetwear trending in the baggy area, it's very, very popular. I think the design speaks for itself. And I think the bagginess works perfectly with the hoodie because something like a quarter zip is meant to be a little bit more fitted, professional. Whereas the street wear is, a lot more, like I said, a lot more baggy, a lot more informal, laid back. But it's also for versatility. You can go out with it. You can layer; that's essential to any sort of outfit, any sort of fashion statement.
